Hi guys, any advice on how you build communities for your product? So far I created Slack channel, Facebook Group and started advertising it on different Facebook groups but it doesn't work well. Tried to create a survey where potential users would say what they are missing from existing apps and to enter their email a the end, but was not too successful. Got only 1 email address. :/
What do you do when you want to prepare lunch for a new product? Where do you advertise? My startup is creating a new loyalty digital wallet which is a better version of existing products on the market and later on, we plan to have an option where users can get loyalty cards within a single tap.
Any advice? Thanks all.

From what I’ve heard on the IH podcast and here, an approach that works is to provide something of value to the folks that you are trying to recruit for your community (e.g. content that resonates with them). That builds trust and If they want more of it they have incentive to give you their email address.
Was thinking the same. Some kind of templates for something or I don't know yet what exactly. But need to figure out what would that be since my target audience is main stream. Basically everyone. While if we want to extract someone then people who buy, use vouchers, loyalty cards.
Hi, in my experience Facebook Groups and similar channels work better when you have a product that is already mainstream. At the begging I would focus on finding early adopters that would be willing to use an early-stage service.
How to find these early adopters depend on your product, not every product has the same channels of growth.
Finding early adopters to validate your product and allow fast experimentation (required for getting your product more mainstream) is a very hard steep for early startups.
If your revenue per user could be high or your product has a viral component, I would try paid advertising, but not a lot, just enough to get your first set of customers.
Also, a digital wallet sounds like a product that communities at PH and HN could be interested, I would try those.
Best luck!
Thanks. Was thinking the same, but will now wait for my Beta to go live. Create some marketing assets and let's see if I can get it viral. If you have any tips and tricks when to publish on IH, HN & PH that would be useful. I know there are some things man needs to consider, but would love to see it from experience.
I can't speak from experience in launching to these platforms, because I still never did it successfully. I am planning to launch in these platforms within the next few months.
For what I investigated and asked around, ~80% of the launch, is having the right product for those communities... only then you can follow all the tips online to make a successful launch
