I've heard many differing opinions about building a company that competes with large and established companies.
In my case, the giants I would be competing against are generalist companies who have a very large target audience. My product(a marketing tool) would be targeted at providing a specific solution for my niche.
I should mention, no one in the niche currently uses this tool. So I can't really ask the typical 'what don't you like about the current solution'.
I'm concerned that my product (though targeted) would not be differentiated enough to compel clients to use my solution compared to the giants. I spoke with a potential client and leader in the space and all of my questions led to them answering with general features like 'integrations' or 'automation'. None of the answers were super specific to the niche.
I guess my question is how do I differentiate my product to the niche specifically. The response I get when asking this is 'make it more specific to the niche' but they can't provide any pain points or examples due to no one in the space using the software yet. It's like asking them to tell the future.
