Also asking for upvotes breaks etiquette and rules, someone not nice might report your post and get you shadowbanned or whatever...
Really? I didn’t realise that was the case. My impression was that people regularly asked their friends to upvote their posts.
People sometimes do, and they break HN guidelines by doing so
