I run a small web design & development agency. My work involves coordinating with clients and contractors who all use different calendar providers and are in different time zones. Scheduling group meetings was painful and resulted in long slack or email threads as we hunted for available time slots.
I looked for a solution, but the status quo was to use a scheduling link tool, like Calendly. But those aren't a good fit since I need to book multiple ad-hoc cross-organization meetings. What I needed was to see a free/busy schedule for all of the people in my meetings so I could find shared availability.
With that vision, we built an internal tool and began using it with our clients and contractors. Finding an available time slot for a meeting with a client team, contractor, and internal staff went from hours (or days sometimes), to near instant or a single email confirming that everyone had the time slot open.
It was so helpful that we decided to expand it and offer it publicly! We're currently in Early Access with a small group of customers, but we're wrapping up v1 and will be launching soon!
If you work in an agency, consulting firm, or any kind of team that coordinates with external people, I'd love for you to give it a shot!
What stood out to me is that you're solving coordination across organizations rather than scheduling itself. I'd keep validating whether customers see the biggest value in finding a meeting faster or in eliminating the back-and-forth that makes coordination frustrating in the first place.
So far our feedback is pointing towards the second one - making the back and forth easier or make it go away entirely. Viewing shared availability helps that, but it's definitely not a complete solve for it.
That's exactly the part that caught my attention.
Reading your reply gave me one thought about what changes once the product stops optimizing for scheduling speed and starts optimizing for reducing coordination itself. I'd rather explain it in the context of what you're building than try to condense it into a few comments.
If you're interested, what's the best email to reach you on?
The shift from optimizing for speed to optimizing away the coordination itself is the right direction. Most agency owners do not actually want a faster meeting, they want to stop being the one who remembers everyone is in a different time zone. Scheduling is one visible piece of a bigger pattern, the same person is usually also holding the client status in their head, the contractor deadline, the invoice that has not gone out yet.
