Hi there!
I know the answer is always, "start charging asap!", but here's my situation.
I'm working on a SaaS workplace communication app for life in the pandemic. I've got one very small team using it so far, as a test. I haven't received much feedback from them (the founder is very busy), but they appear to be using it a few times a week, which is decent (and it's been a few weeks). Currently working on getting another team onboarded.
I plan to start reaching out to my contacts/networks and offering them the opportunity to try it out with their team. I'm not going to have a landing page yet — I don't know want it to seem like something that's "launched". More of a soft launch with direct sales to make people feel special.
Does it make sense to add a 14-day trial and subscription logic at this point, before I send it out to more teams? My thinking is that it's good to set the expectations ahead of time, so that once it's been 14 days, I can start getting paid if they find value in it.
Also struggling to figure out how I should charge. Most teams so far are 4-6 people. I like how Basecamp has a flat $99/month fee, or $1000/yr. $100/month isn't that much for a company if they find value in it. But maybe I should just stick to the usual $8-10/user/month pricing? What do you think?
Thanks for your help fam!
