Saturday Edition: Daily Stand Up!

#daily-stand-up

Why?

That extra nudge of accountability to achieve even a small step on your IH journey each day.

To join in:

01 Share your epic (a big chunk of work with a meaty objective) you'd like to complete by the end of February.

02 Share what you accomplished yesterday.

03 Share what you commit to accomplishing today.

04 Comment on at least one fellow hacker's progress and give them an IH Point for their check in.

Optional:

05 Share your Work In Progress to underscore your accomplishments.

Then tune in the tomorrow to share how you did on your own tasks!

    Today
-[Customer Facing] Frantically work through a ton of details so I can launch my pre-release site with enabled payments
-[Backend] Stub in some new code generation code to support more OpenApi components for alpha launch planned for late Feb.

    KUDOS:
@jimbol for locking it down...sometimes that retreat is exactly what the doctor ordered. I've had quiet weekends where I nail down a week of development in a 36 hour stretch. Good luck.

RE: "-[Customer Facing] Frantically work through a ton of details so I can launch my pre-release site with enabled payments"

Instead of frantically working - is there some items that can get de-prioritized from the launch? That'll give you time & peace of mind while you launch.

      1. 2

Oh, it's not as bad as all that. Just a bunch of detail work I have to tap into the internet machine so I can hit publish with something less blah than what's currently up.

        1. 1

gotcha... well good luck w/ everything.

"Insight] While using my app in the car for many hours, I had at least one powerful, very valuable insight as to what I am actually building"... so you're just going to tease us like that and leave us hanging?

What kind of contract work you do?

      1. 2

Voice apps, Alexa skills, mobile apps which feed into voice apps, all kinds of stuff like that these days

        1. 1

Oh, so you you're innovating using voice. Cool!

          1. 2

It's something I've gotten pretty good at, and also why I added voice commands to my mobile podcast app. Working in voice is super fun!

If you feel comfortable sharing... what was the criteria for qualification?

      1. 2

Without going too much into my ideal customer profile there are few things the leads need to do/have.

        • product market fit aka customers (case studies, logos but not just "oh, our app integrate w/ these logos")
        • company size/role (certain stage/life)
        • optionality (are they stuck/stubborn or stuck/shopping for help)
        • value & vocal about their problem getting solve
        • industry (do I have domain expertise/care about it )
