Hi guys , newbie here, heard about this forums in few podcasts and decided to give it a go ! I am currently working on a new dating app concept and really appreciate any feedback on it. I have created a survey using google forms and feel free to add any comments about what you think is important /missing feature in a dating app. Cheers

I tried to enter this market earlier this year and I'll tell you - it's tough. I think the big problem with dating apps is that the companies that run them either make money off of ads or monthly subscriptions. The problem with that is how motivated are they to solve the customer's need of finding someone?

We did multiple user testing sessions with my app before deciding to pack it up. People liked the idea, it's just so hard to create a community large enough to where you see fresh faces each day - especially when Match group is aggressively pushing all 20 of their apps everywhere.

Happy to talk more if you have questions. People in our sessions said that they've been asked to get on a call or do snapchat videos before going in dates to grt to know someone better so you might be on to something. Best of luck!

Here's my app for reference: https://itsadate.app

I would pick a neighborhood where people are during the day and the night, let’s say Shoreditch in London or Williamsburg in NYC. And I would only allow to connect when they’re in the neighborhood and/or at certain time(s) si you can create FOMO and gamification AND most importantly: critical mass.

Hi Mwood23, I am keen to talk! I thought about it too but I felt current apps are frozen in terms of functionality and not able to use technological advancements such as AR/VR to create a amazing user experience along with creating meaningful connections. I am trying to work around this feature. Let's connect over skype, my id is rajiv_037. Cheers

I just joined the forum today because a mentor referred me here. I released a dating app, StepUp in March, and a MVP back in October, and I agree with @mwood23 that this space is very difficult to break in.

My strategy is start somewhere outside the US, where they don't have as big a presence and try to grow as fast as you can before it's too late. But really, who knows if this will ever work? I do know that there are some dating apps who are quite popular overseas and not as well known in North America, but do make loads of money (or at least have sizeable userbases) too.

I would be happy to connect with you and exchange some insights. Thanks.

Hello friend! Maybe you can check out this dating site https://www.lustylocals.com/single-women.html . I like to sit there and this is one of my favorite platforms! Maybe you will see something useful for yourself and at the same time you will meet some beautiful girl and make an appointment with her.
