Day 7 — designing the payout page (the moment trust actually gets tested)

A few people here have pushed me this week on designing for failure
states and honesty over polish (thank you, seriously — this thread
has shaped the build more than I expected).

Today I applied that thinking to the Earnings & Payout page. A few
choices I made on purpose:

  • Minimum payout stated upfront ($5), with no ambiguity about when
    you can withdraw
  • A pending state that says exactly what's happening and when:
"$12.00 requested — processed in next daily batch, typically
within 24 hours" — not a vague spinner
  • A visible payout history with real dates and completed status, so
the mechanism proves itself over time instead of asking for blind
    trust

If failure states are where trust gets built, I think payout timing
is the highest-stakes version of that — this is the one place users
will judge the whole platform on whether the words match reality.

Still zero app code. But I'd rather have this right before there's a
single dollar moving through it.
