Detroit Meetup Summary - No Code Edition

Last week we did something different for our monthly Indiehackers Meetup here in Detroit. It was a virtual meetup focused around the rise of no-code tools and luckily we had makers who have made prominent products with those tools to join in.

Joe Brown is the founder of https://www.nucode.co/ which is a community (700+ members) for NoCode makers where they can interact with other no code makers.

https://kreatorschool.com made by Haashir Mohammed offers a plethora of amazing tutorials and truly showcases the possibilities of building different types of products without writing any code.

What is NoCode/ NoCode movement?
"NoCode is essentially a Marketing tech-stack for non-technical founders and creators. It empowers anyone to build a digital product without having to write any code."

Why and How Joe built NuCode
"I felt like there wasn't a place to interact with anybody else that wanted to specifically push the boundaries of what you could build without any code. I had a list of requirements for the product and researched tools that I needed to build it with. I needed to have a relational database for products to makers and makers to tools and wanted to be able to reference that data dynamically throughout the app. Bubble was my first choice because of its workflow capabilities that made things easier. "

Benefits and drawbacks of building with NoCode

Benefits: You can build digital products much quicker and by yourself.
Drawbacks: Dependency, cost, and scaling. You can't export the code on some platforms and you are tied into that platform's environment.

Where will the Nocode movement be in 5 years from now?
It will not be about NoCode, it will be just about the product themselves.
The conversation will be around building useful products and not about building with no code.

Overall it was an awesome experience in my part learning from folks that have built products and business without having to write any code.
