Hey all, I have a mobile/NFC based question. I'm helping someone work out the right tech for her startup idea, and I'd love some thoughts to help clear up some confusion.
She wants to have a solution that would integrate with as many POS providers as possible. The idea is that upon making a purchase, the POS system would fire off an API call to her webhook with the order details - this bit seems nice and easy as most POS providers seem to offer API access.
But the 2nd part is that the customer would tap their mobile phone on the POS terminal and her app somehow uses NFC to receive something (an order ID presumably) from the terminal, which ties it up with the order sent to the webhook.
My view is that, the way NFC works on mobile devices, none of this is possible from a h/w point of view, even if the POS providers wanted to integrate.
Any feedback would be very welcome, cheers!
The main benefit of NFC (Near Field Communication) business cards to businesses is the ability to seamlessly exchange digital information with potential clients or contacts. NFC-enabled business cards have a small embedded chip that allows them to communicate wirelessly with compatible devices such as smartphones or tablets.
Here are some key benefits of NFC business cards:
Easy information exchange: NFC Business Card eliminate the need for manual data entry or exchanging physical cards. By simply tapping an NFC-enabled card against a compatible device, the recipient can instantly access and save the cardholder's contact details, website, portfolio, social media profiles, or any other pre-programmed information.
Enhanced professional impression: NFC business cards can leave a lasting impression on recipients due to their technological novelty. It showcases a business's commitment to innovation and modernity, which can enhance the perceived professionalism and credibility of the company or individual.
Interactive and customizable content: NFC technology allows businesses to create dynamic and interactive experiences. Beyond sharing contact details, NFC business cards can link to websites, product catalogs, videos, or promotional offers. The content can be easily updated or customized to reflect current campaigns, events, or product launches.
Analytics and lead generation: NFC business cards can be integrated with analytics platforms to track interactions and gather valuable data. Businesses can gain insights into how recipients engage with the shared content, measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, and identify potential leads for follow-up.
Environmentally friendly and cost-effective: NFC business cards reduce the reliance on printed materials, thereby minimizing paper waste and associated costs. They offer a more sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to traditional business cards.
It's important to note that while NFC Business Cards offer these benefits, their effectiveness may vary depending on factors such as the target audience's familiarity with NFC technology and the availability of NFC-enabled devices.
