Did Courtland ever share his process for requesting and conducting his early text-based interviews for Indie Hackers?

I'm building a startup that will be partially similar to indie hackers, but in a different niche (fiction writers).

I'd really love to learn about Courtland's process for requesting and conducting the interviews for IH, especially the early text-based ones.

How did he contact the founders? What does a good interview requesting cold email look like? How does the interview process look like, do you just send all the questions at once or do you ask them one by one? What are the best questions to ask?

Is there some place I can find this information? Are there any good resources sharing advice on how to do this stuff?
