Digital Marketing, do you game the system...or Hack it?

Greetings!

Just listened to DarkWeb Diaries 27: Chartbreakers podcast. I'm curious to hear what people think about online marketing vs. exploiting weaknesses in current established ranking systems like Apple podcasts and NY times bestseller...should we be pursuing exploits and opportunities to jump the line on this stuff or can it just be about hard work and quality content? How best to get our message out there?

My interest in DIY online marketing is because I run a free online kid's club (TheTechBandits) to inspire the next generation of brilliant minds by connecting them with my Stargate and other acting audiences...most of whom are fellow geeks, interested in science and tech and many of whom are making a good living at it. I'm eager to spread the word about what we're doing, so more kids can be a part of it and I can access even more brilliant contributors and supporters...so thoughts and brains very much appreciated!

Cheers!

I think competing on pure digital channels is tough - the way to succeed is to make the content the algo wants to spread... not to make the content that's in your heart to share with the world.
