Do not create anymore features

As a tech I am really stuck with this dilemma (more like fear) that my product(promotee.co) is not enough. I mean, the features, the UI or the functionality. There is always something. And the thing is whenever I talk to a sales/marketing person, they are like, product does not get you customers or sales. It's how people see you.

I am curious about other people/tech who have also faced similar situations.

This seems to be the mistake I made while building HeyForm - I focused on building features without talking to customers and hearing their feedback.

I learned that while building EarlyBird - a no-code landing page builder for startups to pitch and validate their ideas in 10 minutes, without writing a single line of code. I have been building EarlyBird in public on Twitter since day one. I have been engaging with people, inviting them to give it a try, and gathering feedback from them. I have then been using this feedback to build features.

We achieved 1,000 users within the first month of launching, and we even had several paying customers before we implemented a billing system.

The key is to launch fast, talk to customers and show up every day (consistency).

A lot of makers suffer from this dilemma (including me). Thing is, we end-up building products for ourselves that no one want to buy.

It can be challenging for makers to create products that align with market demand. One strategy to overcome this dilemma is to conduct market research and gather feedback from potential customers before starting anything.

This can help identify and validate a product idea, and ensure that the product will be desirable to a target market.

Additionally, involving potential customers in the development process can help ensure that the product meets their needs and addresses their pain points.
