Do we need another Startup Founder Interview podcast?

I know, there are a bunch of these interview podcasts already out there. My tiny spin on it would be to just interview super early-stage founders (under 1 year).

I listen to a bunch of startup podcasts, but I normally just hear podcasts with the more successful companies. Makes sense, cause these are normally more interesting/inspiring stories. But I'm personally sometimes more intrigued with early-stage founders and their startups.

Would this be interesting at all? Positive and negative thoughts welcomed.

Also some context, my goal this year is to finally do a podcast. I recorded a trailer for another podcast idea, but realized it was WAY too ambitious. I just don't have time for that being a startup bootstrapper myself...so need to pivot. I need a podcast concept that's much more templated, so thinking these interviews may be the way to go.

Thoughts?

    Your idea resonates with me…

And I think, just give it a shot. Record your first 5 interviews and see how it feels. If the process is tiring and really is more of a pain in the ass than rewarding, you’ll know it’s not something you’d enjoy for a longer period of time.

So, yes, my perspective is more that you need to enjoy it first and then people will get excited by your excitement after some time.

Your podcast could be called „First-Year Founders”, something like that. And your angle could be that you interview those founders in the 1st year, then 1 year later, 2 years later, and so on. That could create a nice cliffhanger and a good reason for people to tune back in. At least, I would like to see how their journey will evolve.

And last question: Why do you want to do a podcast?

Totally agree to do some first to see if I'd love it or hate it. Also, dig the idea of bringing guests back for Year 2.

I'm not sure I have a profound reason for doing a podcast. I love the startup community, so I suppose it's to get more involved in it in some way. Plus, experimenting with a podcast has been on my "bucket" list for several years now. This is the year I'm giving myself to experiment with a bunch of things...so hopefully, podcasting will be one of them!

        Cool!

And regarding the reason… loving to experiment and love for the startup community are good reasons (again… because I can very much relate).

So… I look forward to hearing your FYF episodes :)

I would like a more edited down version that's condensed to interesting stuff rather then a talk show that's just long..
Have some guy at work editing a 30min session to 5minutes (both versions are available for consumption)

I don't really care if you get 1 year or 10 year people or what not, just that you get the gems out, some have more or less content in 1 or several topics
Like a tagged WP post or whatever that I can to stuff that might be interesting vs a single title and 1.5hr interview...

There is always place for another good content creator with uniqueness IMHO, due not sure about monotization

In a way I think you can curate existing content and have a product from that just the same
