Do you assume or do you know? Your product decisions need a framework.

Assumptions are at the core of entrepreneurship.

Not understanding assumptions invites failure. FASTER.

This is because you can never know for sure. Until you do.

One of the phases in my product HUSTLE OS Pt.2 → Concept to MVP helps you make sense of your assumptions and plan for them. Here is how:

Complete this checklist:

  • [ ] 1. Define your Product / Solution idea
  • [ ] 2. Identify Biggest assumptions
  • [ ] 3. Rank Biggest assumptions
  • [ ] 4. Build testable hypothesis
  • [ ] 5. Establish MCS (Minimum Criteria for Success)

Come up with many assumptions by asking yourself the following questions:

  1. Will my customer pay for it?
  2. Does my customer have the problem?
  3. Are there alternatives that solve the same problem?
  4. Does my value prop matter to my customer?

Once you've completed all, you will know what assumptions are high/low-risk or even difficult/easy to test.

You need systems for progress. Not mindless execution.

One of my Notion templates in HUSTLE OS is built for this. It's called Assumption Junction and helps me every time I need to make sense of what I truly know or think I know.

Why do you need it? You always know waaaay less than you think you do.

Want this free template? Let's connect in the comments! I'd be happy to share!

Absolutely! Here you go: https://www.notion.so/hustleos/Assumption-Junction-FREEBIE-0180a63158e3403bb96482399a4452a4 - simply hit duplicate template. It's one of the 20+ templates on HUSTLE OS, so I had to take out relational databases for problem, solution & segment/early adopters. Hope it's still useful!

I could hop on a call and show you if you would like that: https://calendly.com/julianpaul/hustleos-25min?month=2021-06
