Do you know when your site goes down?

Websites often go down, remember the fastly CDN fiasco? We are building Bulletping to keep you informed of you website health check.

So if something goes down you are informed immediately.

Is that something you might find useful?

Sure, it's super useful. However, there are already plenty of solutions for this.

For namy.ai and remindy.me (and other projects) I use uptimerobot. But there's plenty other services like it.

How do you plan to differentiate yourself?

Ideally we wanted to know from the users if there's some pain paint that can be addressed.

We use Uptimerobot too, if there’s a failed ping then a webhook gets sent to our server to automatically restart things.
I wonder if there’s something you could focus on around the webhook side or detecting abnormal latency etc

Interesting, could you please elaborate on it

I use FreshPing (https://www.freshworks.com/website-monitoring). It's free, it works great, and they give you a custom status page also free

@itsmeek how does the free plan works? I saw that they give 50 checks with 1 min interval. So, they only track during a one hour period/day? I am sure that I am missing something here. 😅

They leftout the units, its 50 checks an hour, They charge $8 For additional 10 checks.

Solved problem. In fact, a lot of the tools for devs are already solved problems.

The unsolved problems (and money) are in boring b2b industries like insurance.

Domain expertise is something we lack in such industries.

Fair enough. In my opinion, it's better to study a non tech domain and gain as much expertise as possible (vs focus on the tech too much).

Find an industry where employees are emailing spreadsheets back and forth and create an app that automates that. Charge them $100 per month instead of the 100th website monitoring for $6.99 per month.

Makes sense. We'll look at it. Thank you so much for your time.

    Anything unique?

    1. 1

Nothing unique as such but if there's any paint point along these lines we wanted to understand
