Do you monetize your fun projects?

Hello everyone! I'm just curious if you guys monetize your fun projects and how. I recently created letternerd.com and its not a type of site you can easily monetize but I'm curious if there's still a way to go about it.

    Neat project, @obhox!

I just started experimenting with ads on my personal site michaelsoolee.com using Ethical Ads.

I could see letternerd.com charging a few dollars for a PDF download with the customized text.

Or you could upsell to an actual service where you write a custom note for you.

What would be neat if you could take a note and have it automatically printed to a physical card to send off.

    Neat idea! Good luck :)

Thank you Michael! I will consider all the ideas you mention. Will also look into Ethical Ads, nice write-up on your website.

Really depends on the product. Usually, if the product is more on the fun/free side it’s best to use it as a lead generation tool for another bigger product that’s worth monetizing.

Still you could try once you figure out the main value metric - whether it’s number of letters generated or the length of the letter. Try limiting one of them and put a small price point. Then start increasing it and measure whether conversion rates drop.

I will look into that. Might consider using it for a lead generation tool or adding extra features and monetizing them with a subscription. Thanks!
