Do you think I am on the wrong track?

I built a software where business and individual users can track product stocks.
I wonder how many people in the world use this software. Should I leave this software in the corner and turn to different ideas or should I go over my idea and improve it?

hey! I am building in a similar space. I think that these products require a lot of marketing for product market fit.

    good luck!

I don't see any reason why people wont use it , yes there are plenty of alternatives but the world is big enough to accommodate many players.

Can I please ask is there a reason why you are querying this after you have created the product - are you failing to get user traction etc or just worried it wont take off?

Actually, I made this software for myself and I use it with love, I wonder how many people in the world pay to keep track of their stock.

I think its worth a go - if you have a need for it and you didn't get one off the shelf yourself then others will potentially want the same. There will always be an angle or niche you might identify on the way if it doesn't take off.

        Good luck with it.

Thank you for your valuable comment, do you have any suggestions to reach more users?

To be honest I am at the very start of the same journey at the moment, we have our product (https://slyce-io.co.uk) that we are trying to get some traction for from developers and been a few weeks since we finished it.

I have found it is very hard and I have been trawling sites for the same information and they all say keep posting and engaging.

I am trying to get build up some backlinks etc to the web page which I feel is the basic stuff I need to be doing but it is a hard slog and still waiting for the first user.

I have about 250 users, but when it comes to the payment part, everyone gives up and the prices are quite affordable.

Maybe look at charging for certain in app features that the users would find useful, customizing invoices, extra storage etc.

I use a site called quickfile - it is a full accounts package for my accounts - it is completely free which I was surprised because it is as good as any accounts software on the market but they charge extra for certain features such as number of ledger records. I think the way they look at it is they get you in using the software and when you grow to a larger organization you will need to pay to increase your membership to the next level - a strategy Google use quite often I think.

Its just a suggestion but I think you will find your route to payments in time as your software looks very complete and useful.
