Do you use firefox? [Ask IH]
Hi all,
I have an idea (productivity app for an indie hacker) which needs a sidebar in a browser i.e my app will be a browser extension always opened in the sidebar. But it seems chrome, edge etc doesn't have sidebars, only firefox have that.
Tried asking around, no one is using firefox. Some chrome, lesser edge, and lesssser safari.
So I would like to know two things from you:

If not, if there is a great freemium productivity app for firefox will you be able to shift to it, just for my app?
Take a look https://gs.statcounter.com/, firefox has only 4% worldwide adoption. Why don't you create something inside the website itself? Modify the DOM to show your addon or take a look at Weava extension(Chrome only), they have something that is similar to what you wanna do
Yup, partly it is possible to build in chrome this way. But chrome has been continuously banning extensions which takes such permissions, and I am scared of it because of development effort and then getting kicked out of webstore.

yup, probably lucky? I talked to couple of founders of such apps. And they seems to be fearful of this banning, most people believe Google is tossing coins and banning, no logic behind it. I want to avoid spending months and launching and getting banned :D
