Does a landing page need lots of content?

My landing page for The Hive Index is pretty barebones, just a search bar and a couple of links to get started. Do you think that there's more that the visitor needs to know about the site before kicking off into using it?

Very open to feedback, positive or constructive. Thank you!

Just remember what was the biggest USP of Google search engine initially. It was a blank white page with just the search bar. Clean and minimal. Since you're a search engine for communities, your landing page is more than sufficient in my opinion.

I think it's pretty self-explanatory, why did you build it? Are you planning on monetizing it? What's the USP over googling it?

Not thinking of monetization at the moment. I built it because I've myself really enjoyed learning from communities such as IndieHackers, and want that to be easily accessible to anyone that wants it, across any topic they are interested in.

Yes, some of these communities are found via google, but definitely not all of them (like slack and discord groups aren't indexed for example). I'd like for the Hive Index to be the launchpad for visitors to find people of similar interests, and be able to easily pick the platforms or community features that matter to them to narrow down the search.

Eventually, I'd like to add features that enable current community members to pitch in on what the community is really like. As far as I know, there's not currently a website that surfaces this.

There are communities aggregators for everything, including slack and discord, - that being said, if you figure out how to monetize you re good to go

In my opinion your landing page is more than enough, didn't need more explanation to understand what it was about.

Only feedback I can give you is that it would be better to make the "See all" button more visible, I only noticed there were more topics after explicitly visiting the "Topics" page. I would make it larger & change the text to someting like "See all 50+ topics".

I dont think it needs a lot of content just enough to explain what your service/product is and why users should use it.
I think your hero message explains that perfectly so I'd just add another section with testimonials or a quote from yourself explaining why you've created it. I did that in [quicktalks](https://quicktalks.io and I think it's a nice touch.

    Good job 🤙
