Does anyone here make a stable income from Medium?

One of my friends recently published his first article on Medium and in 2 months, he earned $400.

This really got my attention, but when I started to research, I found that only around 7% of people earn more than $100/month on Medium, so my friend was an outlier here.

However, this got me thinking - it is possible to create a sustainable income from Medium?

The keyword here is "sustainable." If you publish evergreen topics in medium, do you have views and earnings coming in 3, 6 or even 12 months later or everything dies down?

There could be a huge possibility for a great passive income source, even when publishing just one article per month! I am creating a challenge for myself to get this one going, however, I thought I would ask for some "tips or tricks."

Has anyone here have any experience with earning on Medium? It would be great if you could share it!

This is probably not the kind of response you were hoping for but the most I ever made in 1 month from Medium is $8. Most months I make less than 10 cents. I write posts about the tech industry and programming. I publish on codeburst and Code Like a Girl which to my understanding are pretty popular publications. One of my posts was even featured in the Leadership category. Really not sure what I am supposed to be doing differently.

Could you share a little more detail, for example, average views or reads you get per month or per article?

Sure! Here's some screenshots of my stats from Medium:

I get anywhere between 10-50 views per day, usually leaning more towards 10.

Thank you! My friend got I think over 6,000 views his first month, so it makes sense regarding the difference in earnings.
