Does this copywriting work?

This is the AI website I'm launching: [https://www.hellohiringmanager.com/]

It's simple, I'm trying to gauge if:

  • Is it clear to you what the tool does?
  • Do you need this if you're a job-seeker?
  • Will you use this to apply for jobs?

Hey Jun, congrats on the venture - seems like a cool idea! Here are some of my thoughts

    • I think the existing copy does a solid job in communicating the functionality of the product, but could benefit from simplicity, and delving deeper into the user benefits (i.e. time saved, increased chances of getting hired, reduced stress, etc.). I might consider the following directions for simplifying the header / subheader:
      • Header: Never write a cover letter again
      • Subheader: Instantly generate personalised cover letters that increase your chances of getting hired
    • From a UX perspective, I’d move the app onto a different page so you can use the landing page to drive home the benefits without overwhelming the user.
    • As a product, AI cover letter writing is interesting, but the one question I might consider is whether companies weigh cover letters heavily in the application process (and whether they ask for them at all). From my experience in product/design most companies don’t ask for cover letters - with the exception of large multinationals or consultancies.
    • This being said, I think there would be value in honing in on a niche here to help identify a potential market and sell the value a bit easier. To get there I might ask what types of roles or companies are more likely to require a cover letter and how can you reach them? Another question I might have for you is whether having a cover letter helps get interviews at jobs that don’t actually require it - this could be huge value for someone applying to give them an edge against their competition.
    • Also I’d add some social proof. What you could do here is create three similar candidates who apply to the same 50 jobs to gauge how effective these cover letters really are. The first would apply with no cover letter (if that’s possible), the second with your AI cover letter, and a third with a cover letter written by hand (maybe one of your past ones or a friend’s)

Hope this helps! Happy to chat more through this if it’s helpful.
