Looking back at December there were 453 reported new gtld domain name sales at Namebio. This is compared to 348 in November. Sales totaled $940,000 vs $677,373 .

2021 was the year the .xyz rise. According only to namecheap report over 600K xyz domains registered. Meta keyword and .xyz was at great demand and will continue to be popular
Xyz tlds are mostly getting used for spamming and phishing. If you open a estblished website and check backlinks then you will notice there are 100s of spam backlinks from xyz tld domains.
Yes don't disagree here. xyz was used for spam and phishing sites because there are very cheap to register. They are still very cheap but the metaverse, NFTs domainers even startups start to adapt the xyz domains. Second factor is the high prices of premium .com, .co domains.
