Dwell time is shooting up!

Since my last post where I talked about trying to increase the time people spend on my website, I've been able to collect some data - and it's looking great!

As a reminder, Inboxes App is a disposable email browser extension. I wanted to build a privacy tool that sits in my browser and gives me long lasting disposable emails which all land in the same inbox, but lets me delete the address when I'm done with it. A tool to scratch my own itch. It's now processed over 21 million emails to date!

The problem is, Google doesn't rank me too well. People come to my website, read what they searched for then leave just as quickly. But we all know since the recent google leaks that dwell time is a factor in your websites ranking. The longer someone spends on your website, the more useful it should (in theory!) be.

So I added a temp mail feature to the website, and as you can see from the below screenshot - it's working its charm. Where people previously spent 25 seconds on my website, they now spend over a minute (and sometimes much much more!). For two evenings of work, this I think was time well spent!
