Ask IH: How do you manage your contacts, influencers you follow, and manage leads? Sometimes it's better to ask questions and show support consistently with an influencer before asking for a sale, pitching an idea, or help. As we all know consistency is pretty tough. I wanted to see if there were any good tools out there. If not, would something like an online Rolodex with CRM/AI features be helpful to you to cultivate meaningful relationships online. If so, I just might go ahead and build it.

I use a mix of spreadsheets, Trello (for to-dos), and lately the Gmail snooze feature for follow-ups.

Airtable also has some lightweight, potentially helpful CRM templates https://airtable.com/templates/sales-and-customers

I've been trying to use a CRM but it's really awkward because the product isn't really built for this. Would love to see more options less focused on sales.

@LeelaS thanks for sharing. Note taken!

We made an internal tool (which is now public) to keep track of people quickly. It's like Pocket (with the browser button) but instead of saving article you save people that you can get back to. It doesn't have a lot of traditional CRM features and we've been focusing on making it easy to use. Feel free to give it a try! https://markd.co/ :)

Hey I created an account. Really like the setup. It is pretty easy to use so far. Would be cool if I could marry with a service like Zapier/IFTTT. I would probably link this with Google Sheets. How has growth been for the app? @theBrandonWu

Thanks for trying it out @jus_mike! Neat idea re: Zapier/IFTTT. What other services would you integrate Markd with besides Google Sheets? As for Google Sheets, is it for you to add additional fields?

Import/export feature is something we've been thinking about quite a bit, definitely a frequent request.

Growth-wise, we've been lucky to have two big spikes (ProductHunt, Basecamp blog) - still working on finding a more consistent channel to grow while keep working on finding that sweet product/market fit ;)

@theBrandonWu Slack and LinkedIn may be good as I sometimes join channels to network and see various contributors. For Google sheets/database setup I would want to add additional fields for historical use, setting up flags, and a way for me to build a rapport with someone or in your case a Mark. So Markd helps me save good points of contacts but I would like to go little bit further in trying to build relationships with tools to assist me with that. If you open to details of how maybe we can chat. I would be open to contributing. I'm full stack programmer myself with a Chrome Extension check it out https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/done-productivity-app/jhnejpkbpmgodnkkgnkifjofpgdgcgkd .

Thanks for the feedback! We have a few things in the plan that might help with your use case. Probably won't get to it until a bit later. And thanks for the interest in helping out - we are not ready to ramp up the engineering team yet but I'll keep you markd :)

I use social listening tool and spreadsheets! There's nothing better than a good spreadsheet (unless you do build an awesome tool)!

I have a spreadsheet also. I think for me it's just hard to stay consistent managing it. @MarketingPup
