Hi IH!
I've had an idea for a tool that is born out of a frustration I have where I work at the moment. Often, problems are solved over emails, or information is shared, and then later lost in inboxes due to small issues not being recorded, or people forgetting to document them.
I've built a small POC of a system that:
-reads emails
-extracts key info using AI
-turns them into KB articles automatically
This then acts as a central, searchable store of KB articles that people in an org can search through.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this and can perhaps comment on whether or not they think that this would be useful?
Thanks!
This is a really practical idea — turning solved email threads into structured KB articles could save teams a lot of repeated questions. The AI extraction angle is especially interesting, since the real value will be how well it captures useful context vs just summarizing noise.
Feels like something worth validating with teams that rely heavily on email-based workflows. There’s a competition where you can submit it — entry is $19 and the winner gets a Tokyo trip. Prize pool just opened at $0. Your odds are the best right now.
If you're working on something new, this could help 👀
$19 entry → idea competition
🏆 Tokyo trip
💰 $500 guaranteed

“Turning 'lost' email threads into an automated Knowledge Base is a great way to kill those information silos. 📧 Most teams don't have the time to manually document small fixes, so an AI-driven extractor is a solid solve.
Nice idea, this could be a good way to test it. There’s a competition where you can submit your POC — entry is $19 and winner gets a Tokyo trip.
Prize pool just opened at $0 so your odds are the best right now.”
It is good idea, but I guess there are many products from other big players.
Lets forget about competitors now. Where is the intelligence running to gather information or insights from emails, Cloud or Local?
I strongly believe no big organization will trust 3rd party solution to have full access to their emails, create insights from it, remember everything, that is too risky for companies than the benefits realised.
If it is local model, probably we can sell, though lots and lots of efforts required to prove the trustworthiness of the product.
Thanks. It's using OpenAI and it reads an email and stores the content locally. It's degisned to be used as a final step in closing a case that's been dealt with via email. I've got it to hash out any passwords that it sees as a first step. AI just processes the data but I store it locally, or in the cloud (when hosted). There are similar products but I don't see one like this.
I just wanted a way to retain this lost information as it happens where I work all the time. If the data can be processed and forgotten by OpenAI, then do you think there is still any mileage in this as a product?
What you do with data is secondary. But collecting the emails, running analysis and getting insights out of it and most importantly retaining for long term memory, for this part nobody trusts this whole process with 3rd party tool especially for their corporate email.
Proving that your product cannot be used for data collection is going to be extremely difficult for sure.
I am not sure if there are any similar products for enterprise. Can you give me some names you identified earlier?
Hi, I think your system is useful for some cases.
but it won't make a good income.
