Charts Factory finished #1 on Product Hunt! How was yesterday?

Hello fellow Indie Hackers. A month ago I bootstrapped my first side project, Charts Factory and I submitted in IH as I'm a member and big fan of this community. Briefly, Charts Factory is a simple and free chart making tool.

Then I submitted my product on PH. Somehow the product went viral and finished #1

I was totally amateur on submitting a product to PH. I just added my images, description etc. and submitted my product.

So how was yesterday?

It was 11 am in my local timezone when my product submitted and around 11:30 am it was in the #4 place. I was so excited and kept refreshing the page to see the action. Then I said to myself "First 5 spot is pretty cool, that can't be go higher than that".

But there was more. Then it was in the #3 place. That was the dream. I kept refreshing and did nothing. I didn't even place the Live on Product Hunt banner on my website. I only made a post on this community.

So I added a banner quickly and waited. Some useful feedbacks were coming from users. I will definitely listen them and make the necessary developments.

Then it was in the #2 place! "There were really great products but people also liked mine!" I said. People started to share my product on twitter, a spanish technology blog published my product. And it was viral!

Around 10 pm it was in the #1 place and I was dancing at home looking the homepage of PH :)

I really don't know how to describe my feelings, I can say that I was so happy to see people are really using a product that I made.

It's a free product but I have added a buy me a coffee link to see if people like the product maybe they can donate me some to pay my server expenses. Only some anonymous person bought me 3 coffees at the end of the day, but it kept me motivated to make the product cooler.

I was lucky I guess, because there were some great products. But somehow it happened. All I can say to the fellow Indie Hackers is "just ship it". :)

After the craziest day I'll take a day off, drink some beer and celebrate my success.
