Finally shipped my side project and I would like to share with you. After 6 months working on my spare time, the MVP of Statictastic is live.
Statictastic solves the most common problems of teams publishing static sites:
- Hosting & SSL
- Enable non-developers to publish new versions
- Enable non-developers to easily update content (e.g. text, images, etc)
- Handle dynamic forms
- Handle URL redirection
- See when things were changed
My main motivation is to enable team members (usually non-developers) to collaborate on the management of static websites, without having to wait for developers, or have to connect different tools to get all the features.
The MVP is just the beginning. I believe there is a few years ahead until the product gets traction and becomes a valid source of income, but one step at a time :)
My next steps are:
- Approach potential customers
- Offer concierge setup for first customers, configuring their sites without spending their team resources.
- Talk to freelancers developing static websites who have interest on building recurrent revenue through referrals.
- Content marketing
