Feedback for new marketing site

We recently launched a new marketing site for our product - https://datingkit.io

The product isn’t exactly new, we’ve been successfully selling our services through community outreach/WOM for a few years now, so we know the idea is validated. We thought adding a marketing website would net us more leads, which now needs some fresh eyes to review.

Feedback on the usual points is appreciated, or just anything you notice:

  • Do you understand what we’re selling?
  • Are you compelled to make a purchase? Why/Why not?
  • Anything we have missed or suggestions to add?

Thanks for your time.

    Hi Steven,

Thanks for posting! The home page of your landing page is sharp. It was fairly easy to tell by the headline and content what your product is.

I'm not your target market, but my career has been in product marketing and design, so here's some feedback:

    1. Your home page is clean and legible. Even at a quick glance, it appears trustworthy. However, clicking through the sub-pages, I lose the styling and touch you've built up on the home page. This creates a tiny bit of friction in the overall experience. Recommendation: Go through these pages and format them consistently to your homepage.

    2. Do you need "for Wordpress" in the H1? I feel like the platform can be explained further down in the how (and communicate why WP is a preferred option). If you drop "for Wordpress" you can be more specific about who the product is for and what the value is. Consider a subheadline to pair with it. ("Launch a tailored dating site for your community in # mins. ")

    3. You jump right in "why choose DatingKit?" right away. Typically I've seen this content used in crowded markets where you need to communicate your differentiated value compared to your competition. I'm not aware of what that's like. If it is crowded, I agree with kdme's comment about finding some social proof if you have it.

    4. I love the live demo right away—that's a strong strategy. Clicking through is qualified traffic. Maybe there's a lead gen piece you could offer them via a modal or pop-in (case-study of a current user: "Read how X launched a dating site and generated $ in Y timeframe" or a guide to launching and running dating a site.) Emails can be collected and followed up on.

      Thanks for the feedback!

The problem with our sub-pages is that it's basic text content pulled from our CMS to help the marketing people set up pages and edit content quicker. We're looking at ways of styling these pages, while still retaining easy editing capabilities.

I would say the marketplace isn't too crowded in the Wordpress space but we're going up against WP Dating (A very established and somewhat unchallenged provider). Our USP being fully managed, whereas WP Dating gives you the tools to do it yourself, but doesn't help beyond that.

Some sort of lead capture from the demo site sounds like an excellent idea! Thanks!
