Hi everybody,
I made a web app where you can share your Youtube channel or discover undervalued Youtube channels. My intention was to create something like IndieHackers or ProductHunt where we can share a channel and get upvoted.
I already shared some random channels I like. These are the channels that already have a lot of audiences. However, I needed a starting point. Anyway, I have no intention to make any profit for now. I just wanted to create a platform where we can build a community for those who need a little bit of push to grow.
I tried to share on other platforms to get feedback but no change so for. If you can give me some feedback on the things that I need to improve or change, I will be appreciated.
When I go on the site, I’m not really understanding the value proposition. I would put something on the site that makes it more clear what you do and who would be interested. For example:
‘A community of upstart video creators to kickstart their projects’
Good luck!
Font size is too small, non-readable even, especially in the "Rising stars" section. Am I the only one having this problem? Opera browser
It's kind of like curated video content... Who's the main target market?
I'd use something that gave curated content suggestions for maybe Startup vids or motivational stuff, is there a big enough niche for something?
Hello,
Thank you for feedback. My idea is that giving an opportunity to those who need a kickstart. Suppose, you are a content creator and you believe that your content is quality but it got lost in Youtube amongst all the other channels. Perhaps, my application is an opportunity for you to introduce yourself to the community. Think of this app as ProductHunt for Youtube channels.
Again, thank you so much for your feedback. I am really open to any improvement and change.
I get it but that's the needs of the content creator to find an audience. What are the needs of the audience? Any marketplace type of transaction needs both sides to benefit. And by marketplace I use that term to mean a coming together of both sides; a need and a need being met.
99% of YouTube content, I'm not interested in. Maybe other people are more broad than me.
That's just my opinion so it doesn't mean everyone would feel the same.
With product hunt maybe 70% I'm not interested in. But thats a 30:1 ratio.
Or I'm 3000% more interested in product hunt than random but quality video content.
A simple solution is focus on a niche, if that goes successfully expand out to other verticals.
What video content genre do you personally love? Could start there.
Aha, now I get your point, sir. You are absolutely right. Like you said, focusing on a niche would be much more beneficial for both sides. Your feedback was very valuable to me. I'll try to make the necessary changes. I'll let you know.
Thank you for your time.
