Feedback wanted for design debt reduction tool💡

Just like tech debt, design debt is a thing and an equally costly one too.

PROBLEM

  • The move fast culture of agile teams result in a backlog of minor design flaws and deviations that pile up of over time resulting in poor user experience.
  • For teams with no UX function, non-compliance with design principles is common. You don't know what you don't know right.
  • Design QA is tedious, and the tooing and frooing with Developers is time consuming

IDEA
A tool that discovers and flags design flaws, then suggests fixes to improve usability.

Automated UX audit - https://www.loom.com/share/4ed46f0859c14976992a8cf5a7cf73c7

Automated design QA (functional & acceptance) -https://www.loom.com/share/99b4f5addc5e465792f65cbcece4b394

Effort vs impact is ranked against importance of design principles for prioritisation.

THINGS TO BE AWARE OF

  • I've deliberately only added 9 design principles. I'm still not sure how to rank their importance
  • I've deliberately left out Accessibility as it has 5 subcategories of its own. Can't decide if it should be listed on its own tab or not
  • The usability audit would start by grabbing screen captures

ASK

  • I'm looking for critical feedback
  • Would love to hear about your design debt stories
