After weeks of "just one more feature", the app is in a good enough spot to start outreach for beta users.
Setup an offer to pay for their use for a trial week plus half off the price, and looking for places to offer this to the right people.
Looked at several subreddits but they seem to be against promotions, so going to be doing some stuff here, in discord, and facebook groups to start, as well as building in public (instagram/X) to build awareness as well.
Looking forward to seeing how this goes!
why does your app offer more to someone than their own claude/gpt account who already no so much about them?
hello dbrogle
I just read your "Finally Shipping" post. This line hit me hard: "After weeks of 'just one more feature'".
That's the exact trap every solo builder falls into. You have momentum, you're building, but then you get stuck in the perfectionism loop — one more feature, one more fix, one more improvement. Then suddenly you're doing outreach, trying different channels, pivoting strategy when something doesn't work. Managing daily execution while balancing "ship vs polish" and pivoting when plans change — that's the hard part.
I'm not selling anything — just talking to solo builders about how you actually manage planning and daily execution when you finally decide to ship.
Would you be open to a quick 20-minute call about how you handled getting unstuck and launching? I think your perspective would be really valuable.

The trap with personal development tools is usually building for the "ideal self" instead of the person who actually forgets their goals by Tuesday. Most apps fail because they add more friction than the habits they try to fix. Are you focusing the beta feedback on the user interface or the actual habit retention rates?
Nice insights! I tried something similar and my experience was that [short experience]. Your approach seems more refined though.
Hey dbrogle, I checked out BestCoachAI, really interesting concept.
One thing I noticed: it’s not immediately clear who the product is for and what exact outcome users get within the first few seconds, which might be causing drop-offs.
A quick improvement could be tightening the hero section with a more specific value proposition (who it’s for + what result they get) and a stronger “try it” CTA.
I’m a product designer focused on conversion and clarity, I can mock a quick improvement for you if you’re open to it.
