Saw this posted on HN yesterday. Tried it without any expectations tbh but it really worked, has helped me focus a lot.
Thought that this could be of use for you guys, enjoy.
Cool list, love seeing stuff like this.
For me, it's all about cuing up an album that I've listened to so many times that there's zero friction to listen to it. It's almost like muscle memory but for my ears. I know the words backwards and forwards, I've memorized every change and transition, and listening to it on repeat for hours is just..... easy.
I wouldn't even call those albums my "favorites" even though I've logged thousands of hours of listening to them.
Have you tried Brain.fm by chance? Works pretty well, but I still favor music to stuff like that.
I felt something similar but it has just happened to me with only 1 song. The weird part is that it happens from time to time, not always so I've kinda let the repetition go with that song.
Brain.fm has also worked for me, and so has noisli.com . But as far as I can remember, this playlist is giving me better results for the time being used.
Right on... I too have done the single song stuff (got like ~20 songs on a playlist I'll listen to just one from there for a day straight... call it "hyper focus"), still tend to gravitate to a handful of albums on repeat though
Honestly how I listen to music while I work stems from how I listened to music way back in the day (cassettes and CDs, without access to a multi disk player :P) pre-digital streaming / having access to every damn song ever... just cuing up an album and listening to it until I get sick of it
Incidentally, had cued up one of my "flow" albums a bit ago and crushed a 1000 word blog post like nobody's business :P
All this music talk, may as well share one of my lists! https://open.spotify.com/user/joshtronic/playlist/3shziUaYxSKqntSdeOZwS5?si=7I6IEv0ESLaIH1_KauDLSg
