Found a Saas idea I want to run by you
The first post opens with some pondering and thoughts!
I am looking for a tool that will help me stock data, maybe in the US market to help me get into company insights. Nothing too complex but simple data points like Revenue streams, OpEx/CapEx, and Equity to Debt ratio figures for the quarter.
Nearly every tool I see comes with a fair bit of complexity and it feels like it's most catering to professional traders. Is that not an over-served market?
Most of the data that public companies report in the US is publicly available from the SEC but it is a nightmare to go through that. EDGAR filings and its API are actually very powerful data sources but that data feels so underutilized. A tool that serves the retail investor or small family offices could fit a nice spot between a professional trader tool and a simple yet powerful tool.
Q: Do you use any such tools that help visualize such data? Pretty graphs? A tool that answers like the above but is always 2 clicks away?
