Founder's Library - Beta Launch
Do you struggle to find good content on YouTube?
I do. I have 2 main problems:

YouTube suggestiongs get repetitive making it difficult to discover new content, ideas or channels,

Most video recommendations have "clickbait" titles, and images. Even the content delivered is unnecesarily polarized to perform better.
Lately, as I was preparing to get back to building, I started to watch a lot of content related to startups. As usual, I quickly found a couple good channels, but after a couple weeks ran out of original content, and decided it would be fun to build something to discover new content, and get better suggestions.
Today, I'm happy to share with the community amvizion.org. The core idea is that there exists an assymetry of information when selecting content. First, as a viewer I'm asked to select a video based on minimal information: title, thumbnail, number of views, duration, and date published. Selecting a video with minimal information is particulary problematic for long-form content like podcasts. I could watch an entire 1-hour episode only to realize there was very little value delivered.
The second information assymetry is a result of who selects what information is displayed: the creator & Youtube. Both have the incentives of me watching as much content as possible. That would would be nice if my time would be limitless, but the reality is I have relatively little time for learning, or entertainment.
Benefits
As I develepode the Founder's Library, I realized something even more important. The content I watch, plays a crucial role in my emotional, and mental health. Notably, when selecting a video, the information I consume is not as important, as the emotional transformation that I experience after watching the content. This is the same experience that happens when watching a movie. We choose movies based on genre. In the next 3 examples, I hope to communicate some of the benefits I've experienced from testing the Founder's Library for the last week:

Select better content: The Founder's Library, provides dimensions that measure the type of content that is delivered. For example, if it is informational, emotional, relevant (to founders), intriguing, relatable, etc. Based on the dimensions I can better assess the quality when selecting a video. One suggestion I found had the word "beautiful" in the title. Normally, that wouldn't interest me at all. As I started watching the video, I almost stopped as the interviewee was a designer. But I trusted the recommendation, and I'm happy I watched until the end. The video delivered deep insights related to testing, and building products, well beyond the aesthetical dimension. I applied some of the learnings immediatly on this product.

Energetize the beggining of my day: It was a Friday morning, and had some chores before starting my day. I looked for suggestions on YouTube, but as usual I found polarizing videos, and nothing of interest. The Founder's library provides filters based on genres: motivational, learning, curiosity, inspirational, and entertainment. I selected a motivational video about building a BioTech startup from 0. After the 10-minute video I felt energetized to start my day! A very different experience as if had watched news, or something similar.

Discover new interests: I'm in good health, eat helathy, and excersice almmost every day. But I had never thought about consuming videos related to physical health. As I expanded my interests based on the recommendations, I understood the value of investing 1 or 2 hours a week on learning about my body, and energy management. In the best case scenario, I hope products like The Founder's Library can help moderate our views, create a better understanding of each other, and bring more unity to society.
Launch
This is a beta launch. The product may have a couple bugs, and it was primarily tested on desktop. The recommendations use LLM models that I hope to improve in the next few weeks. I'm also only providing recommendations on a few videos from selected channels.
My goal is to get feedback to improve the product, and assess if it can be turned into a business. Some of the areas where I would appreciate your advice the most is on what other channels have good content, any missing dimensions, or genres, and what distribution, or monetization ideas do you have. In general, I'm open to your feedback, bug reports, suggestions, and thoughts about the product.
