First thing, I'm not selling or promoting anything.
I'm currently a software engineer at a large cloud software company. Most business is from large companies with deep wallets. For them, stability and scalability are essential, and the cost of custom built solutions are worth it, even if it takes 1,000 engineering hours.
However, I realized that SMBs probably don't really need custom built solutions or 99.9999% uptime. Therefore, I'm starting a cloud software agency for the clients who are satisfied with mostly out of the box solutions. I have my background in cloud software but, I really don't have work I can show off publicly.
I'm not in sales mode right now. I'm simply extending a free offer to anyone who believes that they could benefit from some basic cloud infrastructure with their software project or business. Things like reliability, scalability, security, monitoring/alerting, CI/CD.
I'm intentionally keeping it ambiguous as to find what SMBs actually desire. I have the technical expertise but my skin in the game in terms of business is low. Could be a great learning experience for everyone.
Thanks!
This was a good idea. Offering a free service for cloud migration or deployment can be a strategic move to increase awareness and attract potential clients. This initiative can serve as a powerful marketing tool, as it allows potential clients to experience firsthand the benefits of your services without any initial financial commitment.
