Freelancing is a Gateway Drug

Hey everyone, I just wanted to quickly share a path that has worked really well for me in getting my business started.

I started a media and content business about a year ago, which I've been running alongside my full time job. It's been a grind, but I'm getting some traction.

Recently, I started to look for some freelance writing work on the side, creating content that is similar to what I'm creating for my own brand.

It has been a gamechanger!

Here's what it's done for me in just the last 2 months of freelancing.

• Picked up freelance clients that are paying me over 6 figures on an annualized basis for less than full time hours

• Enabled me to quit my full time

• Free'd up a heap more time to work on my own business

• Given me access to some amazing expertise and insights from the companies I'm working for. I'm not using any of their proprietary info, but having other people to constantly talk to about the content topics has made it so much easier for me to come up with my own content ideas

• Networking within an industry that is new to me.

If you have the option to freelance in the industry that you're building a business in, I highly recommend it. It can be a fantastic middle ground that gives you more flexibility to be able to build your own thing, without needing to live on rice and ramen.
