Hey folks π
I am currently working on a feature flag service and I need your help to improve the homepage. Without transition and without further explanation, can you please throw stones at anything you don't think is relevant on https://progressively.app ?
The goal is to make sure the information is comprehensive, the UI acceptable, and that it makes you at least wondering about trying the tool.
You help is very much appreciated πππ
A couple of things:
Overall, great work!
Thanks for your help and feedbacks ! Working on it!
I don't like the logo. It's so sharp and has strange negative space in it that it creates a sense of tension/unease. Reminds me of a cave drawing more than a tech product.
I don't like the fact there are two dashes in the headline. It creates an odd repetition that's kind of a burden to read.
or just let the fact it's stress-free be implied?
The interactive illustration should have its actual controls and the examples more separate. It's not obvious the toggle switch is real and the Mac window buttons aren't. Both have similar styling and live in the same environment.
The percent input should be totally different. I appears to be broken until you just happen to hit a threshold. I'd prefer some kind of segmented button that let me choose 25, 50, 75, and 100%.
The illustration is really great though, I wasn't sure what your product was, but illustration communicated to me exactly your product does. Nice job. The code snipped to the right drives home the fact it's easy to implement, even though I'm not familiar with React.
In the "Enhance the feedback loop" section, I don't like that the blocky white section navigation looks so similar to the blocky white content. It creates some weird alignments and isn't completely clear the nav is a nav. I'd make the nav way more subtle, matching the purple styling more.
I dig it!
Extremely clean home page. Trying to bash, here, and coming up a little short. Not much to hate on. π€£ I had a brief moment of blank page as one of the pages took a moment to scroll in on my iPhone 13 but thatβs a quibble. I love the way use used the buttons for the feedback loop. Will definitely be stealing that.
If only your service supported a Python back end. π₯²
It s supposed to work on python backend :p https://docs.progressively.app/sdks/python
yet it's not the my main focus right now
For the common man like me ... i was looking at your site messages and ...
your primary message is "Stress-less & risk-free feature deployments ... Deploy your features confidently, without stress, and progressively. "
"Stress less" is vague
"risk-free feature deployments" is vague
"Deploy your features confidently" ... so the features are on your site/product side or in the client side ? what features ?
"without stress" ... the word stress again ?
"progressively" is vague
So my next question is ... what your site/solution really do ? ... i didn't got it
And i press the option "documentation" and saw the name of your product
"Progressively"
"is a simple, lightweight and OpenSource feature flag software. It allows to deploy your new features by simply switching a toggle. Comes with interesting features!"
and then again ... look at the text you use
"is a simple, lightweight and OpenSource feature flag software" is vague
"It allows to deploy your new features by simply switching a toggle" ... confusing ... what is a toggle ?
"comes with interesting features" ... how do you know they are "interesting" ? only clients know that ... don't use this word ... and what features ?
You need to put the name of your site on home page ... on top menu ... "progressively" ... like you put in "documentation" option and put a lear message what your site really does like
Your explain video doesn't explains much ...
Your home page is full of vague text ...
Let me give another example ... the text "Unlock Canary" ... is this a site for birds ??? :)
"beta versions" of what ?
Another thing ...
What do you sell ? flags ? fabric national flags ? what ? you put the client guessing ...
So it's a flag software or an option you put somewhere ? And what is a flag software ? it's a flag or a toggle ? what is a toggle ?
remove "documentation" button ... you already have that option on top menu :)
in "documentation" > "developers" > "sdks" > "nodejs" option doesn't give you anything ...
I could be the all day and night "pounding" (in a good sense) on your site ... i am so mean ... lol ... no i am not. I only give constructive criticism. :)
I wish you the best of luck for your site
Pedro

Hello there, and thanks for your help :). Probably for a caching reason that I don't understand yet, it seems you are seeing a pretty old version of the website :o. I dont have these sections anymore for a bit of time. Do you see a dark to purple background gradient?
However, I appreciate the constructive feedbacks, thanks for taking the time to write it down.

Converting the interactive illustration to an animation is a great idea.
