Full Stack Marketing Training

Hey IH'ers

I've been looking to brush up on my technical marketing skills across all the digital channels (PPC, SEO, social media, email automation etc) and was trying to find a site similar to https://www.codecademy.com/ (which I'm currently using to learn to code) that I can use to learn and continue my development as a full-stack marketer.

Does anyone know of any sites or courses free or paid that are similar to code academy but for marketing?

If not, am I missing or is there a gap in the market for this kind of site?

Peace,

Well, I am not aware if there is a marketing equivalent for Codecademy. But there are hundreds of courses on marketing ops skills on learning platforms.

I don't think there is a gap. That doesn't mean you can't create something like it and make it successful. But if you try it, know that you are fighting against really big guys and a lot of available free content.

Also, a note: the skills you listed are generally very downstream / execution-level skills. They are relatively easier to learn from the upstream / strategic-level skills. And what makes a marketer a good marketer is the upstream skills.

Yeah good shout regarding downstream vs upstream. that's a really nice way to divide the hands-on vs strategic. Though I think knowledge of both is important particularly as you start leading marketing teams. Eg. Knowing that your PPC guy is optimising properly or training juniors.

Definitely a lot out there (similar to coding courses) but I find it quite overwhelming and this is with some marketing experience. I imagine it must be quite hard for someone new to the space to know where to start and how best to develop.

To my experience, when you start to manage marketing it starts to become impossibly good at everything your team does. You can have a solid understanding in some but it is not feasible to try and have as deep an inderstanding as an individual contributor on a specific thing - especially if your department is big-ish and your direct reports are very specialized.

It is. Very. Especially when you consider the 99% of stuff out there is trash.
