I am single, without kids, so I really don’t have time excuses.
How does your hacking schedule look like?
7-10 Sidekick (my app), 10-5 full time job, 5-10pm hang out and wellness!
Wrote a little article about it too if you're interested.
Hi @allison_m thanks for your reply, and thanks for sharing your post.
I work in I.T. and handle the trouble tickets. If there are no tickets, i just pull out my handy-dandy VS Code and plug away until something comes up.
Interesting, that's quite a healthy approach because if you want to, you could just pack work and indie hacking under the regular working hours. I like it.
3 hours a day is enough for most it jobs. Now I am working on my projects in the morning. And around 4 I start working at my main job.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
I work as a programmer, and sometimes I am able to work less hours, but lately I haven't been able to due to the amount of work in our pipeline.
For me, it’s more about energy than time. I generally have 3-4 nights per week where I have enough energy for indie hacking. Schedule is roughly this:
Wow, that’s interesting.
Because you hack from 8 to 11, how do you cool down?
When I work at night, I sometimes struggle to just stop and go to sleep.
Sometimes I struggle to stop around 11, but I usually have a particular goal in mind that I’m trying to accomplish and find it easy to put things down once I’ve shipped code for the night, even if it’s something super small.
I’m also very lucky in that I can fall asleep quickly after coding.
