Get customers for free with this growth hack

Hey guys! I thought I'd share with you one of the best growth hacks for driving user growth virtually for FREE. There's a few costs for software + your time, but it's far cheaper than trying to run ads.

From a high level overview, the method essentially involves you scraping very high quality people, then reaching out and pulling them into your product.. but on a mass scale.

Firstly, some of the top tools I'll use (I am not affiliated with any of these) are:

  1. Phantom Buster: Proabbly the most advanced out there in my opinion. It's so scalable and easy to use. These guys have built scrapers that are ready to go. For example, scrape people who post on IG, then scrape the emails from their bios.

  2. Gmass - Used for email outreach using a Gmail address. Gmail outreach has always worked 10x better than trying to warm up a domain and use an outreach tool. I've seen higher open rates, response rates and you can usually start sending hundreds of emails per day, per gmail right away.

  3. OSINT - A little more advanced, but very developer friendly. This is open source intellegnce which allows you to mass scrape sites while trying to get past limitations. TWINT is one of my favourites for mass scraping people off of Twitter.

Next is scraping the users - The big question to ask is where are my users? Where do they spend most of their time? Where are they trying to find business? For example, if you want to sell a software to developers.. you're going to find a lot of them on freelance sites, Linkedin, Github.

As you start looking for these places, the key is to look for sites that have email addresses, phone numbers and sometimes company names.

You can then use a tool like Phantom Buster or Gmass to start scraping a list of these emails.

Once you've got a list of emails, the best thing to do is send emails via gmail. The key in my experience with the email content is to be humble, friendly and talk about them! For example, if I'm trying to get a dev to buy into my software I'd say something like

Hey Charlie!

Hope you don't mind the message. I actually found your email on Github in one of the OSINT repos and wanted to reach out.

I'm Matt, based in the UK and have spent the last 7 months building a software that helps developers speed up their workflow. After finding out what you are up to, I wanted to get in touch and see if I could walk you thorugh a demo? Would love to chat if its of interest!

Matt

I've seen the highest response rates when talking like that, vs something more spammy and not personalised.

Sometimes A/B testing different variations of this messaging can work well too

A bonus hack you can do with this strategy:

If you send people to a landing page, make sure you have the FB pixel on there. Then if your outreach generates 10,000 page views, you can retarget them all with an ad about your product - chances of conversion will be higher since they're warm.

Enough rambling on.. hope this helps some of ya'll
