Hey y'all, I currently work for a really cool employer that has awesome benefits. One of these benefits is managed using an internal app, and I feel like other companies would pay for this app to manage this benefit for their own employees. I'm not sure it's a good idea to steal this idea and make it into a SAAS, for a couple reasons.
Obviously I wouldn't steal any code- I don't even have access to the repo. I would even refuse to do this during work hours to avoid any risk there. If this is considered a gray area (or worse), should I perhaps open a conversation to my employer to see if they are interested in turning this into a product, and then advocate to work on that internally? I would be open to doing that.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Not sure, I would re-read your contract to see if your NDA covers internal processes and applications
