Gitog Story: Starting Email Outreach

The Gitog project started from a simple and specific need: having a portfolio quickly without spending hours coding or maintaining it.

The idea is simple: developers already have their projects on GitHub, but they are not always presented in the best way for recruiters, clients, or anyone who wants to discover their work. Gitog allows you to generate a clean portfolio page quickly, without the effort of building one from scratch.

Since its launch a few weeks ago, the project has evolved a lot. I’m now mainly focused on getting users to test it and sharing the project through different acquisition channels, especially Reddit and, more recently, direct email outreach.

I started this approach about two days ago and I have already received some feedback. I’ll be able to properly evaluate this strategy after a few weeks, or around a month.

For now, my goal is simply to reach the first 10 users. I’m not looking for explosive growth, but rather steady progress by improving the product step by step based on feedback.

I’m also continuing to document the journey and the evolution of the project. If you’re interested, feel free to follow the progress or try Gitog.

I like that you're treating the first 10 users as a learning milestone rather than a growth milestone.

There's a big difference between acquiring users to validate assumptions and acquiring users to scale something that's already understood.

Yes, exactly. I'm really focused on moving step by step, and I see the first 10 users as the first real goal to achieve. It’s more about learning, getting feedback, and improving Gitog before trying to grow faster.
