Growing user base. How to?
Hi! I am looking for some help/inspiration to grow my current user base.
I am writing and publishing stories behind the lives of diabetic to help others understand how they manage their lives.
Currently I am active on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit and trying to approach people personally.
I am wondering if there are any other ways like posting on Quora or anything else to grow my user base.
My main goal is to receive more submitted stories so I can keep creating content for the users.

That's a great project, good for you. My best friend (no longer with us) had type 1 and I got to see first hand how hard it can be for those with diabetes.
There are a bunch of communities - have you reached out to organisations like JDRF, or individuals who may be diabetes educators? From there you might be able to get further leads, or even partner with them to get leads to patients.

Directly reach out to your existing subscribers to get their stories, or send cold emails to higher profile people with diabetes? Scott Hanselman comes to mind as someone who might be interested in what you're doing ( he's written articles https://www.hanselman.com/blog/TheExtremelyPromisingStateOfDiabetesTechnologyIn2018.aspx )
Yes, I am currently reaching out via Reddit and Twitter, and that is working. But maybe there are other great tips and tricks I can learn from you guys.

How often are your visitors sharing stories from your site? I was just thinking that maybe they would be a little hesitant to share someone else's personal story on social media? (Though I would guess the subject of the story would be happy to share.)
Your audience might be more excited to share the subscription to weekly updates or broader articles, like "10 Ways Diabetes Affects Your Workout Routine."
You could also test gentler copy in the signup popup "Hurry up!" and exclamation marks might turn off some people. Mentioning the cadence could help too "Receive a weekly digest" -> people like to know exactly what they are signing up for.
Just thinking out loud here... I really don't know your audience & I think the site looks great!

What I mean with sharing the stories is users with diabetics sharing theirs with me so I can publish them. That is the whole meaning of the website. To share their lives and educate others.
The copy feedback is perfect and will use it.
I was just thinking you could mix up the format every now and then (like 1/10 posts), but I completely agree that the personal stories are more interesting!

Great idea. Overal I am adding all kinds of people (diabetic, advocates for diabetics, dietitians, bloggers, doctors, ...) on Twitter and other channels.
