I am thinking about becoming a web design freelancer. I already made a few affiliate websites in WordPress - also for some clients in the past. But I really don't like the eco-system of WP, it is feature overloaded, slow, plugins everywhere...
So I am looking into other ways, headless cms with serverless front-ends and a python backend. Thing is, I am a self-taught coder who is kinda proficient in Python but not in front-end stuff and doing production deploys on remote servers.
I would like to use this tech-stack-stuff for clients. But it will take a lot of learning and time. WordPress I could spin up in a few minutes, put on a nice theme and done.
Are there hackers here that made a similar transition? What do you recommend? Stick with Wordpress and get an effin' business going already or learning a proper tech-stack, so that it "all pays out in the end"?
