Hiring: Senior Software Engineer for Shotstack
Shotstack is building the next generation video-editing developer platform. In 2021 our customers created more than a million videos, and we grew 6 times larger in the process. We are used by some of the largest brands in the world such as Spotify, Airbnb, IKEA, Twitter and McDonalds to enable video-centric experiences felt by millions, and we work hand-in-hand with some of the most exciting startups in video to make their vision a reality.
This year, we'll be enabling thousands of developers from around the world to build experiences that will touch the lives of millions. Simply put, Shotstack will become an integral part of the video infrastructure on the internet. And we need you to get there.
You will be joining at the ground-level and be part of building the next generation video developer platform.
Summary
We are looking for an ambitious software engineer who can help us solve some of the most pressing problems in how developers edit video on the internet. This job requires someone who is comfortable working with a large variety of different technologies and isn’t afraid to learn something new along the way.
You will be working with an experienced technical co-founder but will be expected to work autonomously on projects. You will be responsible for building reliable and resilient products and platforms within a microservice framework.
What you will do
As a senior developer at Shotstack you will be building the next generation of video editing services for the internet. Your responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for the design, implementation, and delivery of complex projects.
- Design and develop new products.
- Support, monitor and maintain existing products and services.
This is a remote role but we prefer someone who can (somewhat) overlap the AEST timezone.
Basic requirements
- Experience coding using general-purpose programming languages (e.g. JavaScript, Python, PHP) and the Node.js runtime. C++ is a bonus.
- Experience working with front end frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular, Next, jQuery, or similar.
- Experience with HTML5, CSS frameworks and pre-processors (e.g. Bootstrap, Foundations, Sass, Less, etc..).
- Experience with Pixi.js or WebGL is a big bonus.
- Experience building event driven microservices and RESTful APIs.
- Serverless architecture and AWS infrastructure as code is a bonus.
- Version control using Git and team collaboration (code review, PR’s, etc…)
- Testing methodologies including unit testing
- Ability to work autonomously on complex projects.
- An understanding or experience of Agile practices and frameworks.
- Three years minimum experience
