Majority cold emails and warm intros. Being an industry-veteran within the market you are solving for is also helpful.
I worked hard to grow my Twitter following in the niche I was targeting (React devs). That meant focusing the topic of my tweets and spending an almost embarrassing amount of time on tweet copy, style, emoji, images, etc. It's definitely paid off in terms of driving usage to my product, although felt low-risk for me since having more friends/connections in the industry was bound to pay off down the road anyway.
It used to be mostly github and some subreddit, with both SEO for github and being features in a few awesome lists and other related communities website centered around open source. In recent weeks, did spend more time on regular SEO and it's growing at a good pace
