Hi all π
Last week I spent time to talk with some of the users of Writings and few users of similar solutions, and finally managed to define a more focused user group that I will build features for in the future. It just feels like all those user discovery conversations are never enough.
How did you define your target audience for your product? Did you talk with potential users in some form? Or something else?
I am curious on other ways of user definition.
We found this quite tough, at first we said "anyone who blogs" which is obviously too broad. We ended up niching down to agencies. This is a more specific audience that we can target with our content. And helps center our landing page around.
Thanks for answering!
Was there something specific for "agencies" that you offered?
How different would it be if an agency user joined or if I as a normal user used your product?
It is mostly around messaging, and prioritising features. Our core product didn't change too much. But what we talked about on our landing page + in sales calls changed a lot!
the first time when you start thinking about your products for development, that time you also think about the users who need to use your product. half of your questions answare are that, for whom you create your product.
