How do you conduct online workshops? 🤔
We're currently building a video conferencing app aimed at helping online workshops flow better. I'm sure some of you have hosted or attended some before so I'd love to understand your experience better.
- How do you currently run it?
- What are the tools and workarounds that you currently use (especially for those which have migrated from in-person workshops?
- Is there anything in particular that makes online workshops suck? 🤬

This sounds interesting @CheskaT. I've been using Zoom and Whereby lately.... but always open to new alternatives.
Do you use it for workshops or meetings in general? :) How's your experience of it so far?
We've been hearing quite a lot about people using multiple tools for their workshops -- happy to hear about your stack too, if any!
I mostly use them for meetings....but could use something for more collaborative interviews / working sessions. I just set up a call to chat on Monday.

WebinarJam and EverWebinar. Both do what they do really well. No gaps that I have noticed so far.
Awesome, thanks for sharing @richap! Will check those out. What type of workshop do you currently host/attend? Any particular frustrations/challenges about how it runs?
Marketing webinars that explain how to solve a problem that my target audience is having and then at the end give them the option to fast track by working with me.
Both those platforms are great for marketing style webinars - final offer that visually stands out which I can send in chat at the right time, automatic emails that send the replay at my specified time, can expire replay at specified time, can run evergreen workshops that people can sign up for whenever + the webinar also runs the actual chat coordinated with when they happened in the presentation when it was live so it gives a "live" feel, and I can even add onto the live chat transcript the chat transcripts that happen during the evergreen webinars.
I really haven't found any frustrations/challenges yet. They are one of the few marketing platforms built by marketers that works seamlessly without hacks :)
I would check out https://www.workshopsurvival.com/. I haven't read the book, but Rob Fitzpatrick's other book, The Mom Test, is one of the greatest books on startups and user interviewing ever written.
