How do you pick between designs as an indiehacker?

I've spent a ton of time trying to pick between designs, especially when laying the more foundational features of a new product. Each has its own implications for the future of the product and it provokes a ton of anxiety. I'd love to A/B test it, but I'm not sure it's the best use of time to implement and measure both. How do you currently pick between designs?
